Onkyo: Superb Technology Means Thrilling Sound...Amazing Picture...Easier Than Ever to Use The technology that brings greater power and efficiency to each Onkyo requires very advanced engineering. That pays off by providing greater ease-of-use to you. We could talk on about WRAT and Three-stage inverted Darlington circuitry, sound pressure levels and time delays of channels, but we won't. Whether we invent and build the technology ourselves, or in partnership, just know that with an Onkyo, amazing sound can be automatic and simple. Let your Onkyo A/V receiver do the work to create a perfect listening experience…All you need to do is sit back, relax and enjoy. (1) Audyssey 2EQ® tailors multi-channel audio for your home theater speaker set-up by measuring three room positions and applying a resolution filter to the satellite speakers to correct for room acoustics. (2) Audyssey Dynamic EQ® maintains a consistent bass response, tonal balance, and surround-sound effect at different volume levels, so you can enjoy the natural dynamics of your content regardless of the volume. (3) Audyssey Dynamic Volume® automatically compensates for volume fluctuations in different audio content (for example, during commercial breaks) while optimizing the dynamic range. HDMI: Good receiver with many inputs and functions of E. van I have recently returned from a receiver to Onkyo TX-NR509 the HT530 for its HDMI and some of the fancy extras (networking, USB playback, etc.) Some thoughts about the recipient upgraded last gene Onkyo questions? ---------------- Do some research before buying, I was afraid that the HDMI handshake issues arising to be present for the TX-SR508 and TX-SR608 owner would, but so far so good. Currently, its use with a PS3, no problems so far. Will be updated in any case, because I come into question. Easy Setup ---------------- The old receiver is not setup Audyssey EQ was interesting the support. The process put in place ultimately doomed placed precisely in relation to the automatic removal of the speaker configuration and the values that I usually have to hand in my old handset. 1 for the initial configuration without pain! Large display screen OSD ---------------- The reality is quite clean and makes the menus easy to navigate, I'm not used to being able to set things up without looking at the integrated receiver the screen (which is actually pretty cool looking). The OSD for the network-based reading is pretty simple, but does the job. Network Functionality ---------------- Very poor spend a little 'more for this model I counted on other networking capabilities. It 'been very nice to have free online and download a firmware update. Hopefully this means that there will be an improvement in the following section: reading DLNA receiver. This is where I have the most problems. PS3 Media Server I installed on my server at home and diligently serving media to the PS3 via the gigabit network with no problems. The TX-NR509 can see and connect to it, but when the problems start. I did not even mention the cause, but from what I've noticed that the folders "many" of the sub-folders or files (I only have about 2-30 more than here) contain the fault of the recipient and force you to the / level and try again some directories that only one file refused to open (I could not get out). Let him sit and fill in the contents of the folder does not help. I was hoping I could play music on the server without turning on your PS3 and TV, DLNA to the problems I experience is a little daunting. Fortunately it is possible that Onkyo can fix via a future firmware update. The review of Rodney, I tried the free OnkyTroller Android app on my phone to the receiver to control. It works, but the app looks ugly and it seems a bit limited in functionality. Although the idea, very cool. I noticed just scroll DLNA directories with my phone cause of the decline in music while playing the net (too much network activity for the recipient to handle?) Further thoughts ------------- --- - TX-NR509 only warm after hours of use (the cooler than my old HT530)-I love the "dynamic volume" function of the receiver, thus opening theme songs of TV shows from the blast and helps we hear the soft dialogue, without fiddling with the remote, this receiver is quite high compared to a replacement, which means that if the space is 23 of 24 people found the following review helpful. Generally very good receivers, but know all the features! By I. Smith Overall this is a good receiver, and I have come to very happy. However, there are some very important things that a prospective buyer should first know, I did not know these things when I bought it, but luckily I could get around them. The receiver is not covert between video formats This can be a normal thing with receivers, but it was unknown to me when I bought it and then read about it in the manual with dismay. What this means is that if you say, an HDMI cable in the video.
